• Office of Vice President of External Affairs Positions (26-27)

    Civic Engagement & Highlander Labor
  • R’Vision: We envision a UC Riverside where every undergraduate student recognizes their power, and has used it to change something for the betterment of their college experience.

R’Mission: The Office of External Affairs works to organize and mobilize the UCR community, amplifies marginalized voices, and holds every institution accountable, including our own university, unapologetically and without compromise.

Thank you for your interest in joining the ASUCR Office of External Affairs. This office exists to fight for the students of UC Riverside from Sacramento, to Washington D.C., in Riverside City Hall, and on this campus, and we are looking for people who are ready to do that work with intention, accountability, and heart.

You do NOT need prior student government experience, or a perfect resume to apply. What we are looking for is a genuine commitment to students, a willingness to grow, and a sense of why this work matters to you. We strongly encourage students from all backgrounds, identities, and levels of experience to apply, especially those from communities that have historically been excluded from these spaces.

Before submitting, it is recommended to review the full job description for the position you are applying to so you have a clear understanding of the time commitment, responsibilities, and expectations involved. Additionally, you can reference our 2026-27 Academic Year Strategic Plan.

This application requires you to submit your resume and respond to a series of short narrative questions. There are no right or wrong answers as we want to hear how YOU think, what YOU value, and what YOU would bring to this office.

Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee an interview or appointment. All appointments are subject to ratification by the ASUCR Senate in accordance with ASUCR Bylaws Chapter XI. If you have any questions about the application or the positions available, please contact our incoming VP of External Affairs, Joseph Anastacio at janas004@ucr.edu or visit us at the Highlander Union Building, Room 202.
